Three years ago on New Years Eve, I adopted Stells from the Bellevue Humane Society. Today is her birthday and I’m so grateful to have this little fur ball in my life. Sometimes I get a little frustrated with how needy she can be – she’s a vocal cat and requires a lot more attention [...]
For every one picture I show of Stella on the internet, there are 30 more in the “trash bin” of my laptop. Pets, children, and my boyfriend do not understand the importance of sitting still for a photograph. All three are cute, regardless.
I bought a new flash for my camera yesterday. I dimmed the lights really low and took this photo of Her Royal Highness as she was bathing.
She did not like being disturbed by the paparazzi.
Stella has this habit of sitting on my bed and meowing loudly until I open the blinds of the window next to me. Most mornings I try to ignore her so that I’m not reinforcing bad behavior. She usually wins.
I swear I’m not a cat lady, but this little critter warms my heart so much. She has developed the quirkiest personality lately — pawing at the blinds so I open them and dive bombing the side of my body as she falls down beside me to pet her. I don’t know what I’d do [...]
Slowly but surely the days are warming up and I find that I need my heater less and less to keep me warm in the evenings. Growing up in the South, the thought of opening my window seemed completely absurd. Met with hot, sticky, humid air, I never understood why my father enjoyed opening the [...]
While things have been quiet on the blog front about Stella, they have been far from silent in real life. Miss Stells had quite the time a few weeks ago with a visit to the emergency vet, a less than attractive bout with a parasite and a misunderstanding between her owner and the groomer on [...]
I have the most severe case of writer’s block I’ve ever experienced for this blog. Sitting in my queue are six drafts waiting to be edited and nothing left to give for many of them. I’m tired of writing and yet I feel like if I don’t, my blog will be swallowed by a black [...]
Friday.
It’s here.
Stella’s excited, she just doesn’t know it yet.
If you’re in Seattle this weekend, check out the Lakeside School rummage sale on Saturday and Sunday. I’ve never been but I hear it’s the cat’s pajamas. Some co-workers and I will be stopping by after walking a charity 5K [...]
I knew when I purchased my white couch that I was asking for trouble. Owning a long haired cat with a finicky stomach and penchant for hairballs meant that my couch would be the target for many accidents and an excellent testing site for various stain removal products.
Let’s say she’s christened it twice already [...]
It’s official: Lame post week.
I have been in such a design rut lately that I haven’t been able to come up with any posts to talk about for my blog. I’m mostly discouraged at how over budget I am with my headboard and feel like I can’t do anything else until my bed is [...]
Last week I hosted a Stella and Dot party at my studio. It was a small mesh of co-workers and personal friends in my humble studio and I had a blast with everyone that came over. Stella, the cat, was in her element as we drank Cosmos and Mint Juleps over earrings, necklaces, rings and [...]
Hello readers. I’ve been a bit MIA these days. I’ve taken a much needed break from blogging to regroup and reasses the direction of my posts but plan to return very soon. Until then, I already mentioned that I’ll be in Portland this weekend at a blogger’s workshop with the ever talented (and very successful)
I had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon that ended right at the tenuous moment where I still had an hour and a half of work left in the day. But with traffic, the parking deck, an elevator ride and set-up for my computer left to conquer before I could actually do any work, I decided [...]
Her Royal Highness would like to renegotiate the placement of her throne. Introducing Stella McCartney, the newest addition to my studio.
